October, 1999, Suruga Bank launched its Internet banking called "WebNet"
and Mobile phone banking in Japan. Suruga Bank is based in Shizuoka
prefecture and is one of the leading regional banks. It's long history
in Japan starting in 1895, and has been at the forefront of new banking
services. Their online presence has reflected this background and
they have continually been a strong leader of new products and services
within the retail sector. |

transfers and personal account balance enquiries. Current ATM services
in Japan are not available in English or any other languages. Current
assets total 2.9 trillion yen from 121 domestic branches. |

These have been among the lowest offered prices in the Japan marketplace.
Prices for Domestic Bank Transfers are from 52 to 315 yen for amounts
less than 30,000 yen, and between 105 to 525 yen for amounts more
than 30,000 yen.
